Andys Echo

Snow

Back with his inaugural EP for A Tribe Called Kotori, Hamburg-based producer Andy’s Echo treats us to a Janus-faced mindtrip with ‚Snow‘. Giving some insight into the making of these tracks, AE says „I wanted it to be danceable and imagined it to be part of my live set, to play it to a cheering festival crowd. Something I love about electronic music is its ambiguity. You can take a melancholic or even sad idea, but with an energetic beat underneath, the music becomes uplifting“. A hi-NRG single reminding of Depeche Mode’s melancholic synth-pop, then tweaked to meet pure club-focussed standards, the ambiguous ‚Snow‘ welds a wistful melodic backbone on a straight out propulsive house chassis, primed for extensive use both on and off the dance floor. „Inspired by some peak time club-moments I had last year“, ‚The Void‘ harnesses a much different kind of brooding EBM vibe, all in rolling machine thunder, fiery arps, Dave Gahan-esque vocals, and heavily delayed drums on the prowl for their next victim. Built around that all-out energy and thrill-seeking punch, the track shall find its way effortlessly into DJ bags and ravers favourite playlists alike.
